Au pair in Switzerland

Are you looking to enhance your language skills in French, German, or Italian while discovering the stunning beauty of Switzerland? If you’re 18 years or older and considering an au pair placement, we’re here to help. Take a break from school or university and let our au pair program support you.

By living with one of our approved host families in a French, German, or Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, you’ll have the opportunity to assist with childcare or household chores, attend school part-time, and choose which subjects will benefit your future career. In addition, you’ll have the chance to improve your language skills.

We’ll work with you to find the right family and program that best suits your needs, and we’ll be there to assist you with any concerns during your gap year

Working, learning, living – in French, German or Italian

Imagine speaking the language fluently and understanding every conversation and text with ease. Doesn’t it sound amazing? That’s precisely the goal of this gap year.

 

By having daily conversations with your host family and attending school lessons, you will be well-prepared for the language exam at level B1 or higher, based on your current language proficiency.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to practice and improve your language skills in a practical manner, particularly while taking care of the children. For a comprehensive learning experience, you can also select supplementary modules tailored to your interests and career aspirations, which will provide you with an extra edge.

 

 

Programs

Chance Basic
30 hours of work in host family
8 lessons in school (main language French/German/Italian)

Chance Plus
30 hours of work in host family
12 lessons in school (8 lessons main language + 1 module)

With both programs you will take the Delf, Goethe or Celi exam

Modules

Main language (+4 lessons)
Focus on your main foreign language French, German or Italian

English (+4 lessons)
Cambridge Certificate: from PET to Advanced (depending on your existing language skills)

Fees

School fees (for one year*)
Program Chance Basic: CHF 6’050.- (CHF 504.-/month)
Program Chance Plus: CHF 7’950.- (CHF 663.-/month)
Sign-up fees CHF 500.-
Excluding school materials and exam fees

Salary 
For working at host family: CHF 600 – 650.-/month
Plus full board at host family: CHF 990.-/month
Plus travel costs between school and host family

Insurance
Social contribution (employer) and accident insurance will be covered by the host family
Social contribution (employee) will be deducted from salary

*Shorter or longer stays are possible, however, a minimum stay of 6 months is recommended

Club Diplom:
Make sure to succeed in the language exam – additional preparation to pass Delf, Goethe and Celi exam
